Today's trip to the big Tesco. (26/3/2025)

I went to the big Tesco again this afternoon. My Mum said she wanted to come too, to get some presents for people, but in the end she decided not to, so I went on my own again. Syd dropped me off, and I went in and posted a birthday card for my penpal who lives in the Rhondda Valley before getting rid of the soft recycle and going up on the lift. When I got in the main shop, I was wondering wether or not I should go to the toilet first, but I decided to see if I could manage without. By the flowers I saw a display of small candlelight vases for £1.50 so I decided to get one of those for my sister-in-law Ali who's birthday is on 30th March. Then I went to look at the magazines, and I got a copy of Leisure Painter and the Artist magazine. (It's now 2 magazines in one). Then I went and got one bottle of water for me today, and 3 packets of seaweed thins. After that I went to see if I could get something else for Ali to go with the candlelight vase. I went to the kitchenware area and found a mug with small pictures of daffodils all around it, so I got one of those. Next I went and got some MenoHerb, and then I went to the fruit and veg section. I got some blueberries, flat leaf parsley, a red pepper, spring onions, a lime, a grapefruit and some Brazil nuts for me, and a carton of soy milk with no added sugar from the side. For Mum I got 2 lots of strawberries, some bananas and some walnuts. Then I got some shiitake mushrooms from the end of the isle, and then I went to get some milk. I got 2 bottles of milk for my Mum, and I got my usual small vegan yoghurts with fruit in, plus a large plain vegan yoghurt for use in a recipe. I also got my Mum and Syd some mini strawberry flavoured rice puddings for their pudding for Sunday. After that I went to the vegan and ready meals isle, and I managed to get myself a vegan pizza this week! I also got some meat free bites and some vegan sausages. I also got my Mum a couple of beef dinners ready for their dinner on Sunday. Next I went to the ingredients isle and got a little pot of Italian Herbs, and I got my Mum a jar of small pickled onions and a jar of seafood sauce. Then I went to the pasta, rice and sauces isle and I got a bottle of dark soy sauce, a bottle of light soy sauce and some Tilda egg fried rices for my Mum. Then I went to the canned isle and got Syd a little tin of salmon and a original curry pot noodle. Then I went and got a 50/50 loaf and then I went to the cakes where I got some egg custard tarts for my Mum and Syd, and some Apple and blackcurrant pies. Then I got myself some maple syrup before heading off to the teas and coffees isle where I was looking for some Garibauldi biscuits for Syd for ages thinking I wasn't going to be able to find them, but eventually I did! Then I went and got myself some porridge oats. By this time I was really starting to want the toilet, so I thought I'd go now and then come back to the frozen section afterwards, so that's what I did. And I'm glad I did! I went in the disabled toilet which has enough room to hold the trolley too. I went to the frozen section when I came out of the loo, and I got my vegan magnum ice lollies, some frozen sweetcorn and some frozen garlic for me. Then I went down the second frozen isle, and got some jacket potatoes for my Mum, which I had trouble reaching, but I managed it eventually! She had told me that if I saw anything that she might like to get it, and I knew she'd wanted me to get some chicken legs one week when I went to the little Tesco but I hadn't been able to get any. But now I saw a great big bag of chicken drumsticks. There were a lot more in there than she really wanted, but I couldn't find any smaller ones, so I got that. Then I got some mini cocktail sausages that my Mum wanted. I got myself some toilet paper and an Amazon gift card, and then I went to pay. It came to just over £150, and I put £15 on the Amazon gift card. The lady wrapped the mug and candlelight vase in purple sugar paper for me. When I'd payed, I went and sat down on a bench and read some of my art magazine before I went down on the lift to wait for Syd to pick me up in the undercover car park. When I got home I gave Mum her change, club card and shopping list, and told her about what I got for Ali. Then I unpacked the groceries and put them away. I thought I may have made a mistake with the chicken drumsticks because I thought they might not fit in the freezer! But they did. But I found out I really hadn't needed to get any milk because the fridge was full of milk, and I had to put one on it's side on the shelf! Now I've had my dinner and I'm watching the telly.
