I Fell off the Mountain

I think I was unconscious. I fell, slipped down the mountain a little. I reached up and touched the pink of dawn. I slipped again. The snow chilled me in my scanty outfit. I must stop. There is a little patch of meadow flowers I can grab. They fell on me. What is going on? I must wake up and see what is wrong. My feet just hit something hard. The pink dawn and the flowers were on the floor along with me. I looked around and saw my pink sheet in my hand with the meadow flowers over it. It was cold in my room but I did not hurt myself when I hit the floor. Did you ever have a dream so real that you were sure it happened? Did you feel silly when you woke up. Did you ever hurt yourself?

These days, there's a certain point at which I know I am dreaming. I woke up this morning from a bad dream and was relieved.

I understand. I have had dreams that were so bad that I was happy to wake up and find none of the dream bad stuff happened.

@TheHorse Why do we have awful dreams when we sleep? Sometimes, it seems better to stay up all night. I sometimes do but waste my time watching YouTube videos. It seems that I can't watch enough of them.

Unless someone or something wakes me up while I'm dreaming, I don't remember them the next morning. I'm glad you weren't really hurt.

@akalinus Please try to stay off mountains from now on... Or make sure your son is close if you have to travel up one. I'm sure the A/C could make you think you were in snow and sliding partway off the bed could be incorporated into your dreams. I'm glad you weren't really sliding down that hill without a sled, too.

@DaddyEvil Me too. I don't like snow very much. That is why I moved to Florida. Things were not going well in the cold north anyway. What gets me was that I was clutching the pink sheet of dawn. What was I doing sliding down a mountain at night?

Thanks, DE. I don't know what I was even doing on that dream mountain. I think the cold was the AC, and I halfway fell off the bed. I'm glad I was not sliding down the hill without a sled.

My goodness that is one realish dream. Yes, most of mine are terrifying due to trauma.

I'm so sorry. Your dreams must have been nightmares and so very frightening.

I have had dreams where it has taken me some time to come back to reality and some dreams where I am afraid to fall asleep again,

I hear you on that. There was a time when I did not want to sleep because of my bad dreams. It was so scary.

I don't think I've ever fallen out of bed. Like @TheHorse I sometimes know I'm dreaming and try desperately to wake up.

I usually don't fall out of bed. It has only happened three times. Once, it was two mornings in a row; the other is the incident I am talking about. Maybe they are reminders to get up and do something.

If it's a good dream, I desperately try to"kiss the girl" before she fades away.

I think those dreams will go away in a few years. I used to have some about my kids falling down cliffs or being shot. I called 911, and they told me they were busy and to call next week. I finally stopped having those dreams. You will too.

Thankfully, no I've never hurt myself in dreams, but I have had vivid dreams that I can't recall now, but did w when I was younger. I remember telling them to my family and them telling me dreams last seconds, so it wasn't possible.

I believe you, it is possible. I had dreams that seemed to last hours, and I did not forget them.

@akalinus Studies and sleep data show, that Rem sleep (the sleep responsible for dreams) not only occours several times a night, but can last for long streches of time. So, a dream could possibly last an extended period of time, as our subconcious produces them.

@kaylachan yes! I remember some dreams for years. I have space dreams, dreams about old houses, some with an observer who tells you what the dream is about. The observer is an old Chinese man. I wish I could remember enough about the old house dreams to write a trash novel that sells.

@akalinus Yep, sure did. Not sure if it was pretty as flowers, but in Marines I fell off the top bunk and still landed on my feet, kind of,. It was not a 10 landing but not bad for being asleep and did that bending thing with the hand down. Scared the crap out of my roommates who were being quiet for once. One was ironing his uniform and the other I think was trying to nap too.+ I said, nothing to see here, carry on gentlemen. They started laughing. you OK? I go, all good, but this is why you do not put me on top bunk. Every day since, I was always on top bunk because people were waiting for me t\o fall out of it to see if I could land on my feet. Bunch a jerks huh. Glad you OK too. Dreams and sleep are funny as long as you do not get hurt.

Maybe some of them were the same people who watch NASCAR, hoping to see spectacular wrecks.
