A female duck named Bernice was trapped inside a perimeter fence at the Polk County Jail in Georgia on Wednesday March 5. Jail workers assisted the duck from hurting herself by trying to escape by the razor fence since the duck wanted to get out of jail by climbing the fence. The officials with the Polk County Sheriff's Office had help from two other agencies to take the duck was taken to get medical care from the Polk County Animal Control. Bernice will be given a new home at a local farm when her foot heals from her injury when she was trapped inside of the perimeter fence in a local farm. Link is fox5atlanta.com/news/deputies-...

Perhaps she flew into the area then couldn't get out.

I never heard a story of a duck trying to get into a jail before. That is totally different. I love ducks, I had one as a pet when I was a kid.

It is odd for ducks to get into the prison grounds.

Most likely by accident or being curious.

That is a new type of an inmate, and it was good that it could be released from its imprisonment, before it was eaten by an inmate, annoyed with its quacking.

You are right. I am also happy that the duck was not harmed beyond a foot injury.
