Promoting songs with a strong keyword have always been a preferred practice in the music industry because one-word songs provide a powerful message to the listener. I think that's why both musicians and record companies find it mutually beneficial to their commercial success.
So, let's see what snappy one-word tunes pop up on my favorites today...
***Let me know if you like them, of course, you'll need to solve them to provide a thumbs up or down answer!
VIDEO SONG: RHIANNON- FLEETWOOD MAC (1975)
This is a song written by Stevie Nicks about a woman who believes she is being possessed by the spirit of a woman named Rhiannon. There are themes of mythology and the occult that Nicks used in her song along with the name. This song contributed to Stevie Nicks onstage image, inspiring her to wear flowing shawls and black outfits. Nicks had a talent for writing one-word song titles among them "Dreams," "Sara," and "Gypsy."
***If you like Fleetwood Mac's music which one of these one-word songs is your favorite?
TRIVIA CHALLENGE
***Here is today's music challenge for those who like to figure out who the artist, song or facts are from the clues provided... Words with quote marks provide hints!
1. This #1 tune recorded by the Beatles in 1965 is one of the most "covered pop songs" of all-time. This is a rather "gloomy song" about a guy whose girl has left and gone away. Instead of moving on, he imagines the "past times" when they were still together. This was the first Beatles song to attract a mass appeal from an adult audience. The one-word song title is "exactly the opposite of the word tomorrow."
-Can you name this Beatles sad ballad written by Paul McCartney?
2. The Cowsills covered this tune from a "1967 musical" about the "hippie era." Their version of "this one-word song" was "recorded in 1969" and became this family "band's biggest hit" reaching #1 on the Cash Box charts. The song title is what a "bald man" might wish for" after losing it.
-Can you name this popular musical song which The Cowsills turned into a chart topper?
3. Frankie Avalon recorded this "love ballad" titled after a "Roman Goddess" who he wanted to send him a woman of his dreams. The group "Shocking Blue" recorded "a song with the same title" in 1969, but with different lyrics and a more upbeat sound. The female vocal group "Bananarama" covered this #1 song in 1986. This "woman with a goddess's name" is also the same name as "one of our planets" in our solar system.
-Can you figure out the title of this one-word song which uses the name of a goddess?
***Hope "one" can see past the tip of their nose when solving these tunes. Until the next music edition...

@dgobucks226 I saw the 5th Dimension at Leo's Casino in Cleveland back in the late 60s. We had a front row table; and they were about 2 feet from me!!! One of the ladies put a microphone in front of me and wanted me to sing along; but I have a terrible voice and declined!!!

All of those correct song answers are "A- number one."

More Music Trivia:
-The Cowsills cover of "Hair" was kept out of the number-one spot on the Hot 100 by another song from the Hair cast album: "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" by the 5th Dimension.
Enjoy...

1. Scrambled Eggs! Oh yeah, baby how I love your legs! No joke, that is how McCartney started the song (probably using those words as “place holders”). I think he should have released an alternative version so we could compare it to “Yesterday.”
2. “Oh say can you see my eyes, if you can then my hair’s too short.” The line I remember the most from that song. Yeah, Phil Collins could use some “hair” these days.
3. Let’s see…a planet, huh? Uranus? There’s a fudge factory in Missouri (another one in Indiana) called the Uranus Fudge Factory. All the best fudge comes from Uranus! Oh, but the song you’re looking for is Serena Williams’ sister.
