A new jigsaw for me to do

We have a friend staying for a few days so this morning we went into Donnybrook and went to the op (thrift) shop. We both like doing jigsaws so we bought this second-hand one. Now the challenge will be to get it finished before she goes home - or at least partially finished. Someone has already sorted out the edge pieces and put them in a separate small bag. I do that now with any jigsaw I tackle. When I pack it away, I put the edge pieces in a separate bag. It saves a lot of time next time you want to do the puzzle. I think the thatching might be the hardest part of this one. What do you think?

I think that will be a fun puzzle to do. I'm sure you'll both enjoy it.

@JudyEv I've never seen a thatched cottage in real life, just online or in a book.

This jigsaw will keep me quiet for a long time I think. I'm not sure what you mean about 'getting through'.

I really admire your patience and skill in putting together a jigsaw puzzle like that! I honestly don’t think I have the patience to stick with one long enough to finish it. I’d probably get frustrated halfway through! I’d much rather do something like a paint-by-numbers project instead. At least with that, I can see the progress as I go, and it feels more relaxing. It still takes me a couple of weeks to a month to complete, but at least I know I’ll get to the finish eventually. Plus, in the end, I get a nice piece of art to display!

@JudyEv Yeah I guess it really boils down to where we find happiness in doing so.

To each his own I guess. I can't see much point in paint by numbers projects nor in colouring-in ones but different things appeal to different people. I'm glad you enjoy it.

It is a great puzzle for 2 people to pick away at together. I would think that the flower bed with the red flowers closest to the house would be the greatest challenge. I look forward to seeing it completed.

It will. The greenery will also be time-consuming i think.
