Wow I might start watching Survivor again

I didn't watch the first season but got into it in season 2 and watched it for years. . . until at the start of one of them they stabbed a cow in the side to get blood out of it. I gave it up for years but eventually returned during the time of Russell the crazy-ass immunity idol finder. I guess I got bored with it again and just stopped. I literally haven't seen it in years. A video from the most recent episode came across my FB feed the other day and it made me cry. Actually there are 2 videos. There is Eva (Tribe Lagi) struggling to finish the challenge of like a floating table and having to navigate a ball into a specific hole at the end. You could see how much she was struggling. The second video shows her inconsolable because she was overstimulated. Only one person knew her condition and he was on another tribe. It was clear throughout that Joe was concerned for her and when she finished the host Jeff Probst asked him if he wanted to give her a hug. He immediately did and squeezed her hands and she calmed down very quickly. After that Probst asked Joe why he did what he did and revealed his relationship with Eva. He said that his children would be watching and he wanted them to do the right thing and that he would want someone else to do that for his daughter regardless of the game. Then he asked Eva what had happened and she announced to everyone that she has autism and she has "episodes" when she is overstimulated. It was brave of her to say that on camera. Even just watching Joe's reactions as she spoke were touching. You could see that it hit him and he wanted to support her while also trying to look neutral because he is on a different tribe. I counted 2 other members of different tribes wiping tears away as she spoke. At the end of Probst's spiel he pointed out that while this was a great Survivor moment that Joe could still blindside Eva and vice versa. They both smiled. Very true. I think I will be watching the rest of this season. I want to see how this plays out.

We've watched every season of Survivor, but I don't remember anything about someone stabbing a cow. But the other night was so touching, it had me in tears, too. Just learned my husband remembers that episode about the cow. Yuck!!!
