£50 Lucky Buddha fetches £3,800

In the UK we have a programme called Antique Roadtrip. This involves 2 antiques experts going around antiques centres and buying antiques to sell at auction. Any profit goes to charity. On this particular occasion the expert Anita Manning bought a cheap looking ‘Lucky Buddha’ for £50. She has cheekily bartered the seller down on price. At auction the item fetched £3,800. With buyers’ premiums added this would be around £4,400. What an achievement! What is the best bargain you have found?

That's amazing. We watch Antiques Roadshow which is set in the UK but has a bit different format to what you're describing.

Yes it is different but equally fascinating. There are some real finds on there, though I think some of them are probably planted for the cameras
