It is very annoying when I call a business and I hear these recordings, press 1 for this and 2 for that and so on. And still end up going into the "chat" even after the voice on the Xfinity recording says not to worry you can be transferred to a live person at any time, just say so.
The chat want's you to press this or this and none pertain to my issue! So eventually I press something else, just to get a "live" person and they say wrong department and before I can say anything to stop them they transfer me and I listen to many recordings again.
When I finally get to a live person, usually almost 2 hours later, I tell them how annoying it is and they agree.
They expect you to earn to pay the bill, but how can you when you have spent hours on your phone listening to their stupid recordings to solve something simple.

How irritating and frustrating. And AI is calling me trying to sound normal. They aren't.

Alot of that has to do with money. They don't want live support, and they want their people needed less, so they can save money by having less on staff at any given time. At the end of the day it's all about money.

@kaylachan Most of the things that are on the list to help usually don't pertain to what I am even calling about. But they won't let you skip the recordings or list and talk to a person.

@dfollin It's a universal expetation that anyone using the phone is tech savey enough and can follow simple instruction, that live support is rarely needed.

I hate those automated lines. Sometimes I press buttons for an eternity and never get through to the department that I need. Boost Mobile is even worse. They send you a code on your phone; but you can't retrieve it while you are on the phone; so I couldn't talk to anyone there.

I usually find myself screaming into the phone, "Operator!!!!" which winds up turning into including profanities when it responds, "I am sorry. I did not get that. Did you want to a) do this, b) do that, or c) do the other thing?" "I WANT AN EFFING OPERATOR!!! "Okay, I did not understand. Do you want to..."
By the time I get an actual person I want to eat them, and if I could crawl through the phone to them, I would do exactly that.

I know what you mean I yell "Agent" or "Live Person" With Xfinity they say we are going to put you to their Chat and Don't Worry if you want to talk to a Live Person at any time, just say so then the lady on the recording giggles. I found out why she was giggling, because it's a lie. Then she ask's if that's ok and I say No and they still put me to chat.

I never like online chats I prefer to write and ask if they have an email.
