20 hours later Senator Cory Booker is still holding and speaking on the House floor

Wow! I am so proud of the senator from my state. He is amazing.
Last night Booker took to the floor to start some "good trouble" (as the late John Lewis would say) and said that he would speak out against Trump's agenda for as long as he was physically able to do it. If he hasn't already crossed the 20 hour mark then he is about to do so very soon.
He has been speaking, reading accounts from people affected by DOGE terminations, and also taking "questions" (after many minutes of them speaking their own pieces) from fellow senators who are not only sharing their thoughts/experiences but also giving Booker time to rest. He cannot sit down or leave the floor. This is for all intents and purposes a filibuster though it isn't in an attempt to block a vote on a nomination or bill. It is to draw attention to these terrible Trump administration policies.
Strom Thurmond holds the record for longest filibuster ever at 25 hours and *I think* 19 minutes back in the 1960s to try to block the Civil Rights Act. He ate pieces of hamburger and I think drank orange juice. He had a bucket set up in a coat room right off the floor so he could keep one foot on the House floor while relieving himself if he needed to. I haven't seen any report of what the setup is for Booker but I do see that he has a couple of glasses of water on the podium so I can only imagine he has something similar.
I hope he breaks Strom Thurmond's record. Go Cory go!
