Stone-chips found in Sandwich

One of my students ordered sandwich during her lunch time. It was from Zepto Cafe. Generally the day she couldn't carry lunch, she would order something from outside. Today was one such day, until things turned turtle. All of a sudden, she shrieked when she hurt her tooth with some solid particles embedded within the sandwich. To her utter surprise it was stone-chips. Luckily nothing hazardous happened, but it could have been fatal. Immediately she launched a complaint, and the Cafe refunded her the full amount. But that wasn't enough. Just by refunding, you cannot let them off. As a result, I encouraged her to register a complaint online on Consumer Forum web portal. I helped her draft the mail with all factual details. The grievance has been registered and the govt. officials will soon investigate the matter. Hopefully the Cafe should learn a lesson and become more careful with their orders.

I'm glad your student wasn't hurt. And I agree that just refunding the money isn't enough. I wonder if someone thought it would be funny to put stone chips in the sandwich? You might ask your student if she knows anyone working in that Cafe.

@DaddyEvil yes, may be...but certain negligence could be hazardous to others. So, they should be extremely careful

That’s terrible! Did you read about the restaurant in Japan where a customer found the head of a rat? The customer found it before he took a bite of the soup, but then another one of that same chain of restaurants had a customer find a roach in their food. The chain closed there over 2,000 restaurants to conduct training on sanitizing properly. How would one ever go back to those restaurants?!

Just hearing stories like that, I'd never be able to eat in those restaurants.

in India, consumerism is not that strong, hence the corporate entities take us for ride & our judiciary is horrible in providing justice
