Slip Sliding Away

We have been having a terrible day in the weather department today.
It was dark for most of the morning until it began to rain around noon. Shortly after that a cold front came in and the rain was freezing to surfaces upon contact. Everything is coated with a thick covering of ice now.
We are expecting high winds, which are here now, thunderstorms and heavy rain all night long.
We have a full charge on our phones and are sung and cozy at home. If it is icy out in the morning, my husband will stay home.
They are calling for a high of 9C tomorrow, so this should all melt provided that is an accurate forecast. In the meantime, I hope that not too many buds on the trees will be destroyed.

Ice makes a pretty view. But not when you have to be in it.

The family room in our son's house is open all of the way to the roof, there isn't a second floor over it, there is a railway from the second floor to look down on the family room. So the windows are super long and tall, and the girls were quick to show Grandpa all of the ice on those windows.

Harper, who loves to sleep in, was up early one day, and it wasn't quite light out because it was cloudy, and she told Grandpa that the clouds were still sleeping. He laughed so hard, and told her no, she couldn't go back to bed it was almost 8am. That one can go to bed on time and sleep in until 9:30 no problem, she is going to be something come her teenage years.

I hope it won't last very long and that the trees won't be harmed.
It was in the mid to upper 20s for a while before today, then it dropped to a little above 18c for today and will be just above 15c for the next few days, I know that sounds warm to you but to me that's chilly. I thank my lucky stars that it probably won't freeze here anymore.

Its sunny and rainy from where I am today.
Stay out of the cold and be very careful when going out or I hope you don't need to go out most of the time the road is slippery. Stay safe and God bless.

This morning was quite balmy, and all of that nasty ice melted.
It is terribly windy this afternoon.
Ron and the girls and I took a ride to the next town over to go to the butcher.
There was so much water standing in the fields, and the river bank has overflown.

I do like snow, but oh, ice storms are just horrible. I'm so sorry, I hope there isn't a lot of damage from the ice. Be safe, Julia.

That sounds miserable.
We have a lovely day here. Lots of sunshine. Temperature is about 21C. Not too hot and not cold.
