Presentation matters

I have always paid attention to presentation while cookin specially salads.
Once we had invited a friend with her husband . I spent hours making a salad and make it look nice and presentable Her husband was a chef working for an airline and all the more reason to put in effort
They turned up late almost well past our lunch hour and with regret I had to scoop a spoon or two from that salad and eat our food. They were not destined to see my effort and I was disappointed

I agree that other than taste, presentation is also important.

@JudyEv That is a good quality and you are there to appreciate it and that goes a long way And also if there is someone to cook for that adds to the enthusiasim . I have that experience.

Presentation matters a lot to me. It should be appealing and it plays an important role in increasing the appetite. Even in my daily cooking and serving to my family, I would do a decent neat presentation

@allknowing I can relate to that. The energy and enthusiasm goes down with age, and we also get so many other things on our plate to take care of. Now my daughters are getting into it, so it hopefully will continue
