Pain relievers

Our body consists of many parts and pain emanating from them is releived by different ways. To relieive a tooth ache you are given a different pain reliever as opposed to when the pain comes from a headache and so on. Some pains can be relieved by fomentation, by applying ointments and so on. But it must be noted pain relievers do not attend to the cause of the pain. It is therefore recommended that the cause should be first attended to I try my best not to take pills to relieve pain.

I'd like to know how the pills know which area of the body to target.

I don't mind taking pills to relieve pain... Sometimes I also take a muscle relaxant to help the pain reliever to work better. I've been having pain in my left hip and shooting down my left leg. I've been taking a pain reliever called Extra Strength Tylenol and a muscle relaxant with it. That has been working okay-ish unless I move in a certain way. Today I went to see a chiropractor (A bone and muscle manipulator.) to adjust my hip bones... I'm still in pain but that's because he put the bones back where they belong so the muscles have to re-adjust to their proper place. Hopefully, I'll feel better when the muscle swelling goes away. (The chiropractor also massaged my lower back and hip to help the adjustment along. He did that with a vibrating machine.) I go back to the chiropractor in a week so he can check and make sure the bones stayed where they belong.

@allknowing Yes, it is sciatica... and bones were misaligned so the chiropractor was putting them back in alignment.

The cause has to be addressed. Headache can be due to acidity, stress, poor eyesight or something alarming like a tumor. I don't take pain killers unless it becomes really needed. But there are people who have chronic pain disorders and their life's functioning is dependent on these pain relievers.

@allknowing Yes. I have heard of few cases where the cause was ignored and the person took pain killers and ignored it. Later, it was found to be something really serious and too late to be caught. Wish that the cause was properly diagnosed and things were caught at an early stage.
