Gas vs. Battery operated

A couple days ago a friend asked if I knew anyone who could weed eat for her, she has a nice riding mower and does that work for herself, however, she only has a battery operated weed eater that the battery always runs out before she has the job done.
I've always used a gas operated weed eater so I'm not sure about the battery type.
As for me, this is the first week I'm mowing grass, I tend to get as close as possible to all the edges so there's little to no weed eating required.
I've thought about getting my lawn care service back up and running, yes it's hard and hot work but the pay is good and you can set your own hours.
What about you, gas or battery operated equipment?

We bought a battery operated lawn mower several years ago. I HATE the thing! It's battery last about an hour which will do the front, sides and 1/4 of the back yard on a single charge. Then it takes HOURS to recharge it and I have to either mow again the next day or let the grass in the back yard go... Pretty wants to buy another battery for it but at $150 each, I could buy a gas mower for that and just do the entire yard at one time... Pretty won't help mow so I don't see why she gets a say in what I buy to mow the yard. We've been fighting about it for three years, at least.
I mow close to things so don't need to weed eat.

@andriaperry That's what I keep saying... She may have to figure out a way to pay someone else to do the yard this year.

@DaddyEvil for what you'd pay someone it's cheaper to get another one. Plus it'll be yours.

@andriaperry I get someone to mow and weed eat if needed, but I do have equipment here if I need to do it

Well I don't need it but I guess Id use the battery operated.
Good luck if you do start up the lawn care business but that would be a lot wouldn't it with your regular job?

I have a battery run lawn mower. No more tugging and tugging on that rope to get the engine started. The battery does not run as long as I need it to but I am content with doing what I can. I really need to mow a crazy patch today but not sure I have the oomph to get the mower out of the shed etc.

Luckily the gas push mower I have is easy to start, or I'm just stronger than I think.

I need to get started on yard work. I do not weed eat. I need/want a new mower. Because it hurts my shoulder to pull start a mower I would like an electric one. I had one years ago with a cord. I have several battery powered tools of one certain brand and I think it would make sense to get the same brand in a mower and be able to change out the batteries as needed.

We bought our son a nice battery operated weed eater, since his yard is small enough, and he likes it.
He has our old gas powered one, it is really too loud to use in town though, better for the country.
He would love to buy a battery operated self propelled lawn mower, but they are still quite pricey and he wants to wait for the price to come down.

@andriaperry It's a tiny, tiny patch and takes less than five minutes to mow. He does the edges in two sessions. It's hardly worth calling a lawn.

When it comes to cutting the grass, I use gas powered. But when it comes to weedeating, I use battery powered, but I have four batteries even if I don't need to use all four to get it all done. Before the battery powered one, I used electric, but I got tired of yanking around a 100 foot cord.
