Do you have good Sushi places where you live?

When I am too lazy to cook anything, and want something light but filling, I order Sushi.
Tonight I ordered a California roll from my favorite local sushi place. I will cook up some chicken broth, pretend it is Miso soup, and enjoy my dinner.
What did you have for dinner on this Friday night?
Do you have good Japanese restaurants where you live?

There’s no such thing as “good sushi.”
There’s a place not too far from me that has a sign for “hibachi sushi.” I thought sushi was raw.
I had the other half of the soup I had for lunch, some apples, and peppermint hot chocolate for dessert.

Yes, live in California, but hate them all, never eat raw anything, Its dangerous, plus even if its sits for a bit. Can go so wrong over cooked food that sits forever. To be fair, never seen anyone get sick off sushi. I never understand how.

We have several here. My grandson is the sushi eater but he always gives me a bite or two. It is always good. I guess what I am saying is that I don't know. My grandson never has a bad report though so I guess they are good.

@marguicha Hi Marga, we are adjusting to live in the apartment, but it's a nice and quiet place. I still have a lot to do as paperwork, but soon we should be all set.

I had a Buffalo chicken/cheddar sandwich and some Cheetos. There aren't any Japanese restaurants around. I think some of the Giant Eagle grocery stores have sushi. I have no interest in raw fish.

I do. But I prefer other kinds of food. Across the sushi restaurant in my neighborhood there is a wonderful Peruvian restaurant. There I order octopus with bitter olive sauce. Delicious.

Oh yes, we have a japanese restaurant called Sushi Tei. While we are able to pack from the restaurant, they will strongly discourage that and instead will invite you to eat over there instead as the freshness of the sashimi will decline if you choose to pack the food home.

Two or three have sprung up around here but I haven't really tried them. Sushi generally seems expensive. Apart from that we basically never eat out when we are at home, if you see what I mean, so we're much more likely to try a place when we are away on holiday or something.
We do have sushi quite often though, it's easy to make although rather fiddly, which I guess is why it's expensive to buy. Little One is keen on it and is also good at making it (and when she makes her own she can include only the things she likes).

Yes, there are a few very good sushi places in Jerusalem. They are rather pricy though. It is best to get a sushi dish and a noodle dish so that you don't get too much salt.
