The girl who used to do my hair ghosted me several months ago. Fine. Then my neighbor's roommate said she could do the roots and trim for me. Fine. Then that roommate was a total idiot the second time she was supposed to do it so I wound up deleting her number. Soooooo I needed to deal with the roots at the very least. Enter the drug store box dye. I had one on hand and she said that she would do it for me when she got back from the gym to pick up the dog. She looked at the box and was like "NJChicaa this is going to be really dark". I was like "fine". I'm never picky about my hair. It is just hair and it grows back. That being said--what I've learned over the past few years is that tanning actually lightens my hair. I wind up looking almost blonde which is never my desired goal. So I'm fine with starting out dark. She did it and yup it is definitely dark brown. I'm fine with it. I truly don't care. The students will certainly have something to say about it. It will lighten up over time anyway due to my tanning and hanging outside at the pool. She said that she would do cap highlights for me if I wanted them but right now I'm just going with the dark. Eventually I'll find someone else (professional) to do my hair but I can deal with this now. I'll get my mother to cut it. She's been doing that all my life. My neighbor keeps saying she likes my hair longer but that's just not my thing. It has always been about chin-length my entire life. Stay tuned. We'll see!

Do you know why so many Trump-supporting blonde woman dye their roots dark? It is a "fashion trend" I have never understood.

Not being too fussy about your hair is a very good way to be. Good for you.

I gave up being fussy about my hair when I retired. Now it's a nice silvery color. It really needs to be cut. My husband got really angry with me when I cut my long, long hair; but he didn't have to deal with it.
