Maple syrup is normally associated with pancakes but this simple ginger syrup can easily replace maple syrup
It is easy to make just grate a piece of ginger and add it to a mixture of sugar and water. Cook it till the syrup reaches a 2 string consistency. Cool it.
Pour the syrup on pancakes and see the taste. I used the syrup for apams and what a taste it was.

I have tried ginger syrup on pancakes. But I think it should taste good. We have ginger candy. It tastes good.

I would like that, or any other spiced syrup. I do like maple syrup as well. Our good neighbors in Canada make it, and we also have some that comes from Vermont.
