Flying over the Aussie Outback

The Aussie landscape

I had a work related flight that took me over the Australian outback to central Australia. The landscape is very different from the usual - a very reddish brown color with hills and empty spaces that is very different from the coastal cities. There is often nothing or a diet road that runs through and very few towns or settlements that are visible. The contrast of the blue sky on a car day with this red color is stunning on a sunny day! I could see a lot more as this was a low altitude flight. Do you like to look out of a window when flying?

The outback is really something, isn't it? So red and so 'empty'.

It's a very different kind of 'pretty'. Quite unique too.

@pitstop I wouldn't call it pretty either. Rugged, austere, but not pretty. Although when the wildflowers are out, then it is pretty.

@pitstop I haven't flown for several years, but I used to fly pretty often. I might consider flying in August.

Actually yes, when I fly I like to be by the window makes me feel less captive in a plane,

I don't fly anymore; but my husband always gave me the window seat.

When we fly with family, the kids get the window seat.
