The Cracker Calmed Them Down

Last nigh I could not sleep well. I was fast asleep. Suddenly the sound of angry growls woke me up. I and my wife came out and saw my mother and father were awake; too. We all came out of our house and found our neighbour there The sound of growls were still coming from atop his roof Two stray cats were fighting and from their growls it was obvious that neither of them was ready to give in. We threw stones atop the roof; but it did not work. Just then my neighbour's grandson went inside his house and came out with a cracker in his hand. He burned the cracker and immediately threw it on his roof. The next second we heard the explosion and the growls stopped;. We saw ?both the cats jumping from the roof on the roof of the adjacent house and flying away.

Now that's funny! Male cats used to fight over "possession" of our front porch and waking us up in the middle of the night. So I started spraying vinegar on the corner posts on the porch. The odor went away as soon as the vinegar dried, but cats hate that smell and stayed away until it rained and washed the odor away. Then I'd spray the vinegar when it stopped raining.

@Shivram59 You're very welcome. The trick with vinegar always works well for cats here. I'm positive it will work just as well for you there.

@Shivram59 I've never had a rat in the houses we've lived in except the two that Pretty bought as pets while she was living away from home in college. I don't know if lemons keep rats away.

@DaddyEvil I'll surely try it and see what happens. Someone had told me once if I keep pieces.of lemon in different places of my house; rats will leave my home for ever. However there are no rats in my house

Probably those two were quarrelling over possession of some property or a female.

I don't know; but I have been living here since my birth and I have never heard cats fighting. Actually there are four or five street dogs near our our house. Cats fear them. We have two stray cats in our house also. They never go out of our house lest the dogs could attack them.
