The New York Police Department Special Operations Division Unit rescued a puppy who was seen in the East River on Sunday March 30.
It is not known if the puppy fell into the river by accident or if someone hurled the puppy on purpose.
The female puppy was rescued by a police boat and given a warm blanket and taken to the New York City Animal Care Center where the police are hoping that someone will reunite with their pet soon.

Such a little dinky dog. I hope he fell in by accident and didn't have someone hurl him in. That would be awful.

Most likely by accident by running away from her handler.

Perhaps, he was hot, and wanted a dip, but then got into some difficulties, and it was glad to be rescued, it seems.

Most likely what happened in New York City due to the heat.
