It's a Short Gig

Life is short. We go through but once so we really need to make trump where it counts. We can chose our path, or as in many lives, we let our families manipulate us along the way. Religion, careers, who we marry. Do we see life through our own lense or that of our parents? I was given full rein to do as I pleased and I am very glad. I have a very loving family. I have some great memories of my childhood. I feel blessed to have had such a life. I have lived on this Earth for 73 years. I have been married four times. I have learned a lot about life and humans from those men. I have one child. I will live the remainder of my life without a partner. I am not a woman who can live with someone else. I am happier on my own. The things I have learned, the experiences I've had, the places I've seen and the people that I have interacted with have made me who I am today. I am proud of who I am and thank each of those people for giving what they did along the way. If I die tomorrow I will feel grateful for the life I've had. I have traveled with the carnival and have seen all but the eastern states of America. I am rather stunted in this period of my life. I would love to be traveling and seeing the rest of the places I've missed. But my body says "no". I now have severe arthritis, liver issues, mental break downs, and I am slowly getting past PTSD and social anxiety. My last diagnosis was severe depression with panic attacks. Slowly improving in all areas but it's just a slow road I am traveling. Writing has helped me a lot. I can delve into the beauty of live and the ugliness. I believe that by seeing both sides of life we have a better ability to see what it is really all about. I hope I live to a very ripe old age and have the opportunity to do much more. Thank you all.

I'm glad you are at peace with yourself. Once I moved out of my parents' house, I lived my life the way that I wanted. I dated my husband for 4 years; and we were married for 54 years. I would do it all over again. I'm someone that doesn't like living without a man in my life; but I doubt that I will meet anyone anymore that would be attracted to me. Peace out.

It's great that you found your guy and had so much time with him. That must be satisfying.

Seems that you’ve lived such a full and colorful life — ups, downs, love, heartbreak, freedom, and some wild adventures along the way. It’s honestly inspiring how self-aware and grounded you are, even with everything you've been through. It takes strength to go through so much and still come out the other side with gratitude in your heart. That’s not something everyone can say. All the best and take care

Thank you for that. With severe depression, it is sometimes hard to stay grounded but I do give a monumental try. I'm still curious about life. Thank you.
