Just got back from Aldi.

George drove me to Aldi, but didn't want to get out of the van. So I went in. I don't mind doing it, especially if it's something like a couple gallons of milk. I grabbed one of the cold bags we keep in the van, and simply went in and grabbed the milk. Forgot my phone, but was wearing my watch. So I used my watch to pay, instead.

I am so not with it with technology . . . I still use my card that's in my purse! I always have my phone, but never pay with it. Boy, I need to catch up - that's great George is driving again!

@kaylachan That's true. I have unknowingly dropped cards before, but luckily there was someone to point that out. Ah, like I said, I'm so not with it - now I see how using "technology" could keep things safer. Those notifications would be a whole lot faster than getting a call from the bank that there could be fraudulent activity on your card - which by then the card has been used.

@much2say Exactly. I had two tractions on that stolen card before I froze it and marked it stolen. Got a new card sent to me and the charges reversed. Some banks don't call, unless there's suspicious activity.

I don't like to advertize I have money. So, I use my phone most of the time. Since I'm in a wheelchair (and this has happened before), I can drop the card, and not even know it. Someone else comes along and decides to go on a shopping spree. Yes, There are dumb people out there that think a person wouldn't be alerted when their card is used. As paranoid as it sounds, if the app connected to my card offers push notifications for every time my card is used, I turn it on. If not Apple Wallet does. and I have two places where I can see purchese history.

Sometimes I tend to forget to bring my wristwatch when I have to pay a visit with my medical appointments due to my being in a hurry to catch a ride to my appointment.

I am almost always wearing mine. I use it to arm and disarm the house so I don't have to touch my phone.

I only use cash or my debt card to pay for things.

Sounds like a smooth little outing! It’s great that you had your watch to make things easier — technology comes in handy at times like that. And it’s nice that George drove you, even if he stayed in the van. Do you usually do the grocery runs, or do you take turns?

Before his stroke, we would either do it together, talking about what we wanted or needed. Now it's up to his mood.
