Egg prices are higher than they have been in years

The low-information MAGA and independent voters all went for Trump because of inflation and the price of eggs. Yes--the price of eggs was a common talking point for Trump. Just the idea of Trump talking about the price of anything in a grocery store is hilarious because he certainly couldn't tell you what a dozen eggs cost a year or two ago and he thinks you need to show ID to buy a loaf of bread. . . but I digress. The Trumpers voted for him because they were pissed about the price of eggs. They don't understand avian influenza and farm responses to that and they believed the lying liar that he would bring the price down "on day 1". Yeah nope just like he didn't settle the war between Ukraine and Russia on day 1. It is being reported today that egg prices are even higher than ever with the average price of a dozen costing $6.23. I used to get 18 cage-free eggs for like $3. Some people are refusing to buy eggs but I'm not. I use them for both cooking and baking. I'll give up red meat before I give up eggs. So the stock market is crashed, we are heading into a recession, Canada hates us, China has slapped us with like an 84% tariff, the EU is ready to institute retaliatory tariffs, and our NATO allies (and Australia) no longer trust us and want to share intelligence information with America. Are we great again yet? Nope we aren't and I'm sure the Wharton School of Business is horrified that they gave that moron a diploma.

Eggs are in short supply here too because of bird flu. But the flu in in our eastern states, not here. Our eggs are going over there. I guess they must get more for them over there. Trade is funny sometimes.

Earlier I was talking to a TJ's employee about the very things this article pointed out. For sure the egg prices aren't going down anytime soon - I don't expect them to be. Even a president can't make that happen just because he said so - foolish for anyone to have believed that. We are fortunate to continue having/using eggs too.
