A Feature I Love

I don’t know what kind of smartphone you have, and some of you don’t use a smartphone at all. What I love about having an iPhone (got a steal on that sucker) is that when someone texts you a picture you just put your finger on it, and it plays the previous 3 seconds or so of what was going on when the picture was taken. When my sister sent me a picture on her cruise, I could hear and see the ocean move. When I got Amyra a headband, and my sister took a picture of her in it, I could hear Annelyn say in the background she thought it made her look British (uh, what?). It’s little stuff like that I appreciate about the smartphone. I don’t need the big bells and whistles.

I'm glad my phone doesn't betray me like that! But I don't use Apple products.

I understand it could be a real worry for some. I use the products that I can get the cheapest with the best quality. That means buying what my brother-in-law recommends. He’s a tech wizard, handles the tech department for his company so I figure he should know. That’s the only Apple product I own though. I’m not big on gadgets. I don’t use anything but my iPhone.

@DaddyEvil My iPhone was $200 (my previous Samsung was free). I can’t afford to pay stupid prices. I can’t fathom buying an Apple Watch, although more power to those who do. I know there have been stories about it saving people’s lives, but for me? No, I’m fine with just my iPhone. I don’t miss my Kindle, desktop, or even a laptop. I’m just not good with gadgets, and maybe that’s for the best? That way I have no envy of the latest and greatest. Walmart sure could use you back. That’s just a fact.

@AmbiePam I've been using Motorola phones for the last 15 years. They have the largest battery that fits in a phone. I only need to charge my phone every three days and I use it for reading books, sending texts and making/receiving calls. I also paid around $250 for the last two phones I've owned. I don't see a reason to pay stupid prices for things I don't need. I was the phone salesman at Walmart and helped people choose their next phones since I started doing that job almost 20 years ago.

That's the "live feature" on photos that Apple offers. You can actually turn that setting off if you don't want it to do that. I have my live feature turned off currently, but there are a few times where I'll turn it on when taking a photo.

I like it. I usually don’t mess with anything on the phone my BIL has not explained to me. My BIL runs the IT department for his work for so he tries to explain everything to me, but if he tells me too much I just forget it.

@AmbiePam Apple phones have a built in "Tip" app, you can set it to provide you a notification each day on a new tip or feature of your phone. It's nice because it lets you know how to use so many hidden or unknown features of your phone, and gives you tips on how to get the most out of your smartphone experience.

Three seconds, I could have been picking my nose. Sounds pretty belly and whistly to me but may not if was only feature.. Plus what do I know? I from a past life where smart phones did not even exist. As long as makes you happy. I would probably not call you or show videos if there is 3 second time lapse. Just being real.

I am so with you! Once I discovered this aspect of the photos you can be sure any I sent were done with careful consideration as to the background environment.

I enjoy that feature also. Did you just get a new iPhone? I got a new iPhone 16 a couple of weeks ago. It is so pretty, it is a periwinkle blue and I choose a clear cover with a pop socket that is also clear with some little light blue butterflies on it.

Oh, I’ve had this one for a few years, and this is a few models behind the latest. But it was just so much better than the Samsung I had that I was like a kid in a candy store. I love periwinkle blue; just love it.

@AmbiePam Periwinkle is such a cool colour, it can be clue or almost purple depending on the light. And I love purple.

I bought a smartphone because where I live now it's the only way to have a Bank account, but I do not like smartphones.

I totally understand that! I have both an iPhone and a Samsung phone, and each has its unique features. I love the way your iPhone captures those little moments with audio in the pictures. It adds a personal touch that really brings the memories to life. While my Samsung has its own set of cool features, I can see why you'd appreciate that aspect of the iPhone. It's those small details that make all the difference!
