Controlled drinking is easier than expecting sudden abstinence from drinking

In almost every society, alcoholism is a major problem. It has arguably caused many serious social, health and financial problems. Various interventions are always in place, trying to curb the problem. However such interventions seldom bring forth bigger impacts. Many family break-ups, serious illnesses, tragic deaths and crime tend to increase as a result of alcoholism. These effects are worse because no serious regulations in regard to distribution and use of alcoholic substances are observed. I feel if there’s a way to control drinking, it would be easier than trying to force people to abstain from drinking.

It's more practical to promote controlled drinking with better regulations. Business won't be the best but better health is still a good trade-off for the well-being of individuals and society. After all, healthier communities lead to stronger futures.
