For those of you following the saga, after acting like a crazy drug pusher all day,(instead of drugs though I was pushing water.) I was rewarded this evening with a wet litter box. Thank God for that! NIW life can resume as normal, but I do need to stay on top of his consumption though

It is worrisome when their behavior seems abnormal. However, that is the thing most of the day he was completely normal did not seem in pain or upset. He ran around stared at the window, picked at the door had a snooze on my lap..ate himself silly and sat on my lap, normal Nico stuff. But they should not go days without peeing in the litter box.

@allknowing No, he is neutered. Tom cats don't do that if they have been fixed. All cats should be.

@snowy22315 That too I understand. He wanted you to ignore that part but did not know that is the main part that is the main part a owner worries about Wait a minute Does he not spray on curtains as all tom cats do

Thank God for that. Not being able to potty is an emergency situation.

Yes, I know that is why I was so worried. Of course my imagination did the rest along with talking to a vet and reading. His behavior seemed completely normal though..so it really became hard for me to believe it was an emergency and it turned out to be it wasn't.

@snowy22315 Thank God for that. My Fred cat has potty issues so I feed him that uber expensive cat chow and hope he never has an issue again.

@sallypup Nico's food is very expensive It doesn't seem to make him that thirsty though. Maybe I will talk to the vet about switching to Royal Canin SO.

@AmbiePam I know, and other than the fact he is OK, Praise God! the car purchase is back on track! I haven't been in touch with her lately, but there is one I want to buy. Of course, she may not have it.. which is the usual way. I saw another good one, but it might be gone as well. The trouble is, I have to wait for friend to come down so I can get a ride to see a vehicle, because if I buy it, I would have to drive it back, and what would I do with my vehicle? if it was close by I could ask someone to drive up here (before or after purchase),,but most of the cars are not, and they probably wouldn't want to. Also, I can't guarantee them I would buy if they brought it up here..I would have to see and drive it first of course.

He did again this morning... I was convinced he was going to have to be cathered..at a huge expense and trauma. Then I was reading all these stories about cats who had problems after that and had to be put down. I was in tears. It is amazing what we can talk ourselves into.

@JudyEv I try to follow the Benzinger rule as friend calls it. "Don't worry about things until they happen "Odds are they never will

@snowy22315 I understand. I've wasted days and weeks worrying about stuff that never happened. I'm better now to going with the flow.

I have been trying to play catch up on posts, I went back to see that Nico was having issues. I’m glad he did better this evening. I know how concerning it is when our pets don’t feel well. Glad he seems to be drinking water now.

Yes, he wet again this morning, and it was a lot. I guess keeping that boy happy with lots of fluids available is the ticket. I also gave him a little stew packet. I also gave him because I had it some Royal Canin SO which is not his normal brand but he ate it happily. I might see if I can switch to that for a change of pace.

@MarieCoyle Oh yeah definitely. I am not really as crazy about Nico as I was my last cat, but still I love him. I would hate to see anything happen to him

Yes, me too! He went again this morning. I will tell you I am never going to get another male cat. They are sometimes prone to this kind of thing if they don;t go outside, and my last two male cats had similar issues. I have never had a problem with female cats.
