Follow-up discussion. Deciding not changing my name after all

yes, after 2 weeks of already sending my all documents, I sent today an email to the clerk that i'm not changing my name. I had to send her an official statement and she said she will decide it and let me know. Is this a change of heart or i felt strange changing my key chain, hard to tell. Beside that, i would have to change my whole documents and i don't have a money for it, for now so, it is the best not changing it, i think. Also, i think i would have more troubles, people could get nosy, i would look suspicious or something similar so, that's it. Still, i encourage parents who are giving names to their children, to think about it twice and not listening to distant family members which name is better. Children shouldn't suffer cause of their names and if they want to change their names, it's best to do it when they are younger. And i will introduce myself from now on with my surname and i'll try not reacting to rude people who have national discrimination and other discriminations on their mind. I was born in my country, my ancesters too and i have nothing else to prove anymore.

Why do you need to change your name? I am sorry, I have missed something here. Changing name is not easy and requires a lot of changes in documents, ids etc. That's a lot of trouble.

it seems me copying my past discussion here got deleted. well, it is not an usual croatian name and i always had a doubt about it; i also had some negative experiences when i worked at sea and i think like many things in my life, which i didn't get it and had to solve it on my own, my mum didn't pay enough attention, unlike my sister who was named after her father. i was never jealous but not sure how and who named me so that bugged me.

@xstitcher i am still not happy with my name; living in this big city, people like to point out everything and i couldn't stay in my hometown like my parents did, where everyone knows you and that's why they will never know how hard it is and other things involving me. thank you; i am starting to live without their support; it only did harm to me.

i copied my past discussion here but it was deleted, it seems. not a typical croatian name and not sure how i got it; my family didn't care much about me so, that made me sad.

I do not think that you will regret not changing your name.

i sent an email can i apply again in the future and i can but i had to sign the forms all over again, which is a hassle too. government is usually slow; i am surprised i received her decision yesterday of dropping out my case. and i agree, legal hassle is too much in this country.

It would be funny if the clerk told you the name change has to continue anyway...

honestly, i don't like people oposing their opinion, like she did a bit; she will let me know her decision but, i am good with both. having different name, old name or no name. is it too early for middle life crisis
