Who needs a plan when you are playing 3 dimensional chess?

The span of trump's (so called) plan... Cut vital government services including tax collecting services while exploding government debt by cutting taxes (especially for the wealthy) while eliminating trust in the government and discouraging investment in the dollar in favor of gold while exerting tariffs as a revenue source that can replace the income tax (that is a demented fantasy at best) while issuing temporary tariff exemptions on key products while claiming trump is a "master negotiator at work" while reminding the Red Hats about how poorly planned the Afghanistan withdrawal was. Questions...?

Sadly, it already feels like 4 years. And, his dementia is only going to get worse and more extreme: paranoia ("they're ripping us off," they're eating the cats; they're eating the dogs"), hostility towards friends (allies), hallucinations (fantasies), crazy ideas ("let's bring back coal and call it clean"), and fixating on the past ("let's turn America into the way it was in the 1880's before the income tax").

@MarkPaul we have seen his derangement before he began his first term... we saw his ignorance in every single aspect. But he was elected again I blame the democrats for putting forward a non-white woman which would have armies voting against her based on race and gender. Let us never forget the insane racism when there was a black man in the white house... Had the dems run a white man ...??? So for four years the world confronts the most racist, rabid, dictator who will destroy American infra structure and its standing in the world.

@jaylar You do make a reasonable point based on reality although it is hard to swallow that the only way to win an election is to play into an illogical racist orientation. While I do acknowledge that Harris' race and gender played a part, perhaps even a leading part in her defeat, it seems to me there was more to it than that. After all, while there was "insane racism" during Obama's term, he did still manage to win. Harris seems like a genuinely nice person with skills. She was skillful at the debate in putting trump in his place. Overall, she was not a very good candidate though. Whether it was her or her staff, her message lacked substance. Yes, she captured enthusiasm, generated enthusiasm, and performed enthusiastically, but her insistence on not separating herself from the Biden Administration (full disclosure: I was and I am a Biden supporter), her refusal to sit for an interview with Joe Rogan, her awkwardness in substantively answering questions regarding immigration, limiting Tim Walz's appearances in what seemed like a move to avoid him overshadowing her, and her overconfidence that trump was universally disliked were all the makings of a "bad candidate." Like Hillary before her, she took trump's vulnerabilities for granted and dismissed what she needed to do to win. The entire transition from Biden to Harris did damage as well. The Democrats were idiots for publicly chastising Biden for staying in while praising themselves for having a "family discussion" in public. Those discussions all should have taken place in private. Despite his diminished state and disastrous debate performance, he still had more support than he was given credit for, and the Democrats squandered that good will from voters. Like Hillary, Harris would have been a "good" president, but she wasn't a good candidate. Hopefully, the Democrats realize and operationalize that. They often seem to prefer to "make a statement" over winning an election. As the world is finding out, adherence to purity of a statement is small if any consolation to losing an election.

he is a mockery of himself at this point. But why? Does he have an even more nefarious plan up his sleeve?

@MarkPaul Perhaps that is what it is. I hope we learn more about his "reading difficulties" and other issues over time. His "rise to power" says something very sad about the American people.

@TheHorse It does indeed. But, it's not the first time poor judgment has been used. Richard Nixon seems to have been a template that is being used today. Although more subtle and somewhat less public about his fixation with vengeance at the time, Nixon also turned his 2nd term victory into a way to get back at those he considered his enemies including the Washington Post (under different ownership than today) and other media companies he obsessed with discrediting. It seems like history repeating itself, but in a more intense way.

The remarkable thing at 79 years old is that he is only interested in the attention. It makes him feel alive.
