Before I had children, I sometimes used to pass a playground on my way to work on sunny mornings and see the mothers, or sometimes fathers or grandparents, enjoying the sunshine as they pushed their children on the swings or lifted them onto the climbing frame. It all looked so lovely I would sometimes think it might be nice to do that and not have to go to work.
Fast forward a few years and I did have children and came down to Earth with a bump. Spending an hour or so at a playground is actually one of the most boring activities possible. Of course I never said that to the girls or complained about spending time with them but in reality, I would have rather been at work than having to buy another pretend ice-cream or spin them round on the roundabout one more time.
I just thought back to the times I made my mother push me on the swings when I was little and felt like it was my turn now to pay it forward.

It does look nice. But can be very boring for the adults

It depends on the individuals. I love spending time with children and didn't work when they were babies.

We never had children; but I would have thought that watching your child play would be fun.
