I am going through some boxes in the other room looking for things that I could store in the desk. I found both parchment paper and photo paper. I know that I had my resume printed out on parchment paper one time, and used it for cover lettesr as well, but not sure why I bought the photo paper, but I guess it could still be useful to print out pics from the internet. I also found a box of cassette tapes. Some have been recorded on, but some have never been used. They are practically an antique at this point in time. I wonder if anyone is buying unused cassette tapes? Do you ever find remarkable things when you organize?

Organizing is fun. De-cluttering is more fun, I’ve discovered as I get older.

De cluttering is good too of course. I am kind of on a roll now. Well, I work on it when I want to take a break.

I have thrown a full box of cassette tapes when we decluttered for moving here. I gave to the young man who bought our home all our vinyl records.

I don't have many vinyl records here, but friend has maybe a dozen of mine at his house. I don't really think they are worth anything at this point, because the cat scratched his claws on the covers. If I could get replacement covers, I might try to sell most of them.

@snowy22315 Our vinyl records were in good selling conditions, but I had no time to take care to sell them as well as a lot of things I finally donated.

I'm sure someone would want those cassette tapes. I'm always amazed at some of the things I find when I'm organizing and sorting through stuff.

I heard that VHS tapes are becoming collectible...maybe cassettes are too. I don't like them because the tape deteriorates over time.

@LindaOHio I had one of those, but I think I gave it to some scrap metal people. It didn't seem to be working.

I did read cassette tapes were coming back, like vinyl records did, but I don’t know if unused ones are in demand too.

@snowy22315 I don’t know, but it’s worth looking into. It would be cool to make money if you didn’t want them anymore.

Why would someone want a used one? Most things that go out of style come back at a later date or some collect them for nostalgia. I wonder how much the 8 track tapes I used to use all the time are worth now?

That's so so true. I mean, whenever I empty my cupboard for organizing back, I find things that I really wanted. And I couldn't find them anywhere. I bought a new one. And again left it somewhere else to get lost again. But when it comes to managing my things, I usually papers a lot. Various types of them, some handwritten, some printed, etc. And I forget that I was organizing my cupboard and that I should focus on that. But I keep reading things. And mostly dive into nostalgia. The main work of organizing takes a backseat... Hahaha...

It's a trip down memory lane for sure. I found a rolladex, remember when people used to use those? Iam going to put it on my new desk for nostalgia purposes

@snowy22315 Rightly said. It's a trip down the memories. And I'm sure we all love that. It's so satisfying, it cannot be expressed in words. Those who know what nostalgia is, will easily understand. But for that, one has to attain that age.

I have been trying to do extra cleaning--working on closets, etc. I did get the utility room done, and it's CLEAN. Made me feel better. I cleaned out the big cabinet the pots and pans are in, took everything out, washed it out, etc. then put it all back in a better arrangement to be more convenient for me. I still have the hallway pantry to do...and my own closet. But I haven't found anything remarkable, no extra $, no forgotten valuables, etc. Darn!!
