No matter how effectively new ideas present themselves there is the tendency to stick to old methods.
I am going through it right now I have never soaked boiled rice before cooking although I have now come to know soaking it atleast for an hour before cooking will result in quicker cooking that will save gas and time
But I have yet not started doing that. "Old habits die hard" Right?

We also have a practice of not soaking rice at home but when I was staying in the city to reduce my electricity bill I soak the rice before cooking

...
Anyway I prefer directly washing the rice and cooking in the pot
