Listened to 10 hours of bangs and crashes; but the roof is now done. I picked a sand color; and it looks really good with the stone front and chimney. They had to take the dish down to finish with the shingles. When they put it back it is no longer calibrated to the signal; and I do not have TV reception. I have been watching Hulu, YouTube and programs recorded on my DVR. DISH wanted $155 to come out and calibrate the dish; but I complained about the cost so much that they're coming out at no charge. The company that did the roof may do the two windowsills, garage steps, mailbox and may even check out the faucet in the master bedroom. Terminix is coming out this morning to close up the entry points to keep the mice out and also to get rid of the spiders in the basement...the mice feed on their eggs. Ew. Breakfast - Protein bar Lunch - Meals on Wheels - Lemon piccata chicken, rice, mixed veggies, carrots and Mandarin oranges Dessert/Snack - Chocolate chip muffin Dinner - Turkey/cheddar sandwich and Cheetos What did you eat yesterday? I should be done with all errands, appointments, tests and projects by the end of May. How are you feeling?

@LindaOHio Going to get an injection in my neck today. How was your Easter? I know you missed your husband. We went to our old church, the one my family went to that burned down. It's been rebuilt on a smaller scale. Then we went to a friend's house for lunch which was really nice.

@1creekgirl I hope the injection helps. Your Easter sounds nice. The Cash for Clunkers guy came on Easter to buy my '94 Toyota Corolla. When he saw I was alone, he brought me back a ham dinner from home!!! That was so nice.

Well, that's one big job you can cross off your list. It's always noisy to get a new roof, hopefully they cleaned up well and you don't find old nails in your yard. Usually companies use a wand thing that has a magnet to pick up the old nails, but they always seem to miss some. Hey, now you can get your driveway done and give those mice a one way ticket out of there! Yay!

They cleaned up really well. There are 12 traps down the basement; and the pest control guy sprayed for spiders.

@LindaOHio You put up with those mice way longer than I would have been able to. I hope that the exterminators do a fantastic job and all of the mice are permanently evicted!!

I am glad the DISH is coming out at no cost. Those who did the roof had to be sure it worked, it was not up to you to pay.

The dish must be calibrated to the nth degree. Not something the roofers can do.

We put on a new roof two years ago, and I hated the noise and the banging above my head. It took them just under a week to finish our roof from start to finish, and it was aggravating to say the least. But when they were done, it sure looked beautiful having a new roof on the house! I'm glad they got your work done quickly, and I hope your dish gets recalibrated soon so you can get back to watching TV! For dinner last night we went out to a Japanese steakhouse and I had shrimp and scallop hibachi. It was amazing, and the scallops were so large, not like the small ones you get in the grocery stores.

@LindaOHio Glad the Dish is back online and calibrated. I stream everything these days, although 75% of the time I have to ask my girlfriend or daughter how to work the various streaming apps. At the Japanese steakhouse I go to, they cook the food right in front of you (hibachi style). I love it, not only because you get to watch them cook your food, but also because the chefs are always so entertaining while they are doing it.

Dish is all calibrated; but I was able to watch live TV by streaming it. I don't know how!! I've never been to a Japanese steakhouse.

Glad to hear you got your roof done. That'll at least give you some peace of mind. If I remember right on Thursday I just made a fried rice stir fry with some leftover chicken I had. Good eats and onward and upward.

Seems like a lot of work going on in your end. Those bangs and noises can be annoying, but glad that it's all done and you are happy with the end result . I had my lunch of hot steamed rice, eggs and potato curry, cucumber salad and sauted beans some time back. I am full till my brim.

Wow, it sounds like you've had a busy day! It's great to hear that your roof is finished and looks nice with the sand color. I can understand the frustration with the dish calibration—TV troubles are never fun! Kudos to you for getting them to send someone out at no charge. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate with the roof company potentially helping out with the windowsills and other projects. And Terminix coming to tackle the mice and spiders will definitely give you some peace of mind. As for meals, your day sounds pretty tasty! Yesterday, I had a hearty breakfast with oatmeal and fruit, a sandwich for lunch, and cooked a stir-fry for dinner. I even treated myself to some ice cream for dessert. It’s always nice to share meal ideas!

You’ve got everything going how it needs to. Good job. Shame on Dish for trying to be especially greedy. Yesterday, I had another “steak” bagel, two oranges, and stuffed mushrooms.

You have done so well getting the chores done, that is amazing. Good on you for contacting the dish company and getting it properly calibrated at no charge. Our telecommunications companies are more in the business of gouging customers than providing services it seems. I contacted Bell Canada recently, as our internet, TV app and both cell phones are with them, and I negotiated them down from $360/month to under $150, which was huge for me as I set out to get $35 reduced from the internet charge. Everyone is in limbo now who will need a new cellphone in the next little while because of the crazy tariffs imposed on the chips, but at least the reduced monthly fee should appease my husband, as he is one such person who could stand a new device. Yesterday I had a toasted bagel with cream cheese with the girls at lunch and we had pizza for supper.

I tried negotiating with Spectrum; but they only gave me about a $7 deduction. I left and went with DISH. We were paying almost $300 a month for TV/internet/landline.
