Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen traveled to El Salvador on Wednesday to try to see the mistakenly deported man that the Trump administration refuses to get back. They say--without any evidence--that he is a member of the MS-13 gang which his family and lawyers deny. Even after admitting that the man was deported due to a "clerical error" Trump's crew has dug in and repeatedly said that he will not be returned. AG Pam Bondi even went so far to say that his wife and child are safer with him gone. Immigration court had ruled that the man could be deported but NOT to El Salvador where he likely would be tortured and killed. I wrote a post a few days ago saying that I thought he was probably already dead since the US kept saying that we couldn't get him back. Like we got someone out of North Korea. Incredibly Senator Van Hollen was eventually granted a meeting with Abrego Garcia last night in like a hotel or something with the prisoner wearing street clothes. In any case he looks healthy and I'm so happy to see that he is still alive. The senator said that he will provide details about the meeting upon his return to the US. I'm very happy to have been proven wrong in my thought that Kilmar had already been killed.
