Yay! I sold the '94 Toyota Corolla for $150 and now I can get the gravel put down in the driveway. The guy from Cash 4 Clunkers saw that I was alone and brought me an Easter dinner. There are still nice people left in the world.
I am going to have a talk with my husband's cousin today. I hate confrontations.
The first garage door company is coming out today to give me an estimate on a new door and opener.
I was afraid to have anything else from the freezer; and I didn't have any sandwiches, so I ate a couple of protein bars, a 1 oz. bag of Fritos and a couple of Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pies.
HOWEVER!!!
The Cash 4 Clunkers guy brought me an Easter plate of food:
Dinner: Ham, mashed potatoes, potato salad and green beans -- real food!!!
He also said that he's going to stop by this week and fix the license plate on the Scion. Amazing. I've had a couple of instances already where guys feel sorry for the old widow woman!!!
What did you eat yesterday?

That was so nice to get an Easter dinner. Yes, there are some nice people out there. Without the help I have received since my son is sick, I would have been even crazier than I already am!!
Linda, your frozen food should be fine. Since you have a generator, it takes care of any outages. I bet you just got a dinner that was negligently left to thaw and was refrozen.

I hope so. I don't want to go through that again.

I don't think I would be buying that particular meal anytime soon!

You see? Some people were raised right to be kind and thoughtful.

That was very nice of him. Above and beyond what was expected.
I also had ham and mashed potatoes, but broccoli instead of beans. And I'll have the same tonight (leftovers).

What a very kind gesture on his behalf, and perfect timing for you.
I would imagine that the remaining food in your freezer is fine, that was probably an isolated incident which occurred before you even had the food at home.
Since your husband's family may be grieving as well, maybe you are best off to hire someone who you aren't related to, it may allow for better relations.

Thank goodness for nice people who live close to you!
(I'll have to go and see why you won't eat food from your freezer.)
Pretty fixed me a ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast yesterday, microwaved a pasta and chicken meal from our freezer that I'd cooked about a month ago and I didn't eat supper. (Pretty offered an ice cream cone but it was chocolate so I turned it down.)

Although you hate confrontations, you must talk with her as to what's going on in her head

I ate too much and enjoyed every minute of it. I admit I missed here. Why are you afraid to eat anything from the freezer?

He sounds like a real sweetheart.
You didn't get a lot for the car though. However, I am sure you are relived it is gone. Around here you can get much more for a vehicle running or no. Even Carmax will offer more.

How nice of that fellow. Sounds like a real nice human.
I don't like confrontations either, but it feels so good to get things out and get to the other side of the issue.
We had Wendy's. I had a baked potato, and it was fresh and well-baked. Chili of course, too, and a chocolate frosty.

That was so sweet of him!! God bless his generosity!!
I have chicken taco for lunch and BBQ chicken (real, not that fake stuff I make at home) for dinner.

Well, I made a nice baked dish with the rest of my chicken livers, diced tomatoes, spinach, seasoned fries and gravy/

Well that was very sweet of him to do that, and that he'll do that this week.
Understand not trusting the food from your freezer, but hopefully it was just that one meal!

That was so nice of the Clunkers guy to bring you Easter dinner. Restores your faith in humanity.
Hope you get the gravel done and a good estimate on the new garage door & opener.

Just wow. I am more than delighted about the Clunker man. What a sweetie. You really needed that picker upper plus the tasty real dinner. God bless him and you.

Glad you got your car sold and got a free meal out of it to boot. Happy Easter, however belated, by the way. I've been KIND of here but not REALLY here lately.
For dinner we made a last minute spiral cut ham with carrots and stuffing on the side and had mom over. It was nice, even if the spiral cut ham we bought was sliced with a very dull blade in that it was practically NOT a spiral cut ham at all. Oh well. It was still good.
