I am shocked. Yes we all know that he had been hospitalized for double pneumonia recently but he thrilled people at the Vatican yesterday by making an appearance for Easter. He also was seen a few days earlier as well. He spoke just a few words yesterday but that was thought to be due to the weakness of his lungs. He did also meet briefly with Vice President JD Vance yesterday.
He was the first Pope from Latin America and was well known to want to live modestly and to make the Catholic church more accessible to the people. He didn't even live at the main building at Vatican City. He didn't demonize homosexuals, he supported the plight of migrants and he supported protecting the environment. It is said that he has simplified the papal funeral process.
I am not religious though I was raised Catholic and went to a Catholic university. Still I was happy to see Pope Francis make his appearance yesterday and had respect for him and his social beliefs. This is so sad.

Sorry to see the world lose a moral compass, especially given how few we have.

He was really old though. I’m surprised they kept him alive as long as they did.

I share in your shock and sadness. Despite his recent hospitalization, Pope Francis's appearance at the Vatican for Easter brought joy to many. His presence, even in his weakened state, showed his enduring spirit.
As the first Pope from Latin America, he made the Church more accessible and compassionate. He lived modestly and supported LGBTQ+ rights, migrants, and environmental protection. His humility and dedication were truly inspiring.
I respected Pope Francis for his progressive beliefs and genuine care for humanity. His passing is a profound loss, but his legacy will continue to inspire us. Let's honor his memory by embracing his teachings and striving to make the world a better place.
May his soul rest in peace.

i just saw yahoo news now. i knew he was really sick; i mean, he ended up in hospital often times this year and last one and i feel, vatican was hiding his true health condition. i am saddened too but i am glad he's not suffering anymore. also, i remember i watched a documentary about him or a biography movie and it made me cried how he didn't judge people. i wish someone similar like that could become pope too.
