I just saw some ideas with old graters that were really cute. You can hang them on the wall and fill them with flowers or hang a kitchen towel from them. They were really nice looking. The thing is that the graters they were using looked brand new. I wouldn't abandon a grater unless it was rusty or something However, if I ever do I know what to do with it. So many cute upcycling ideas. What are your favorites?

If I have to say it myself I used marble chips for flooring, for the external walls and roof of our house

My son has a friend who lives on a ranch, he makes things out of discarded horse shoes. Coat racks, decorations, etc. A lot of people seem to be very imaginative in using wooden pallets for crafts, everything from building fences, shelves, all kinds of stuff. I like the idea of using things once they have served their original purpose, a good way to recycle.

@MarieCoyle I don't know about stocking wreaths. I suspect the pics were for those not allergic. I never heard of people being allergic to dryer lint.

I remember people made some crafts years ago out of nylon stockings/pantyhose. They dyed them, squished them, starched them into shapes for wreaths, etc. I thought it was kind of...maybe yukky? I had no desire to try it!
Dryer lint, ugh. My allergy problems would kick in protest!

If I use a scented dryer softener sheet, the smell can get in to the dryer lint trap and yes, make me sneeze. So I guess technically we could be allergic to the lint, depending on what is IN the lint, if that makes any sense.

@LadyDuck Yeah, and you don't have to throw it away or even put in the recycling. Most of that stuff doesn't even get recycled in the first place.

I have a lot of old candles. I melt them down and refill the votive candles.
I also stuff cardboard egg cartons with dryer lint and then fill them with the melted wax for fire starters.
Our dog had a beautiful long, fluffy tan, black and brown coat. So much came off when I brushed him. I used to say I was going to knit a sweater.
Then I met a woman who was fulfilling the requirements to become a Master Weaver and a Master Knitter. (She also had her Master's in Education)
For one of her pieces, she knit a sample from yarn, she had spun from her dog's hair.
So, I should have created yarn from his hair

I just saw on FB a photo of an outdoor leisure corner made out of those wooden pallets. I think even the seats and shelving were made of pallets - all painted white. I would love to create that in our yard (fat chance though - I see a lot of things on FB that just sit as "ideas" in my head
).

Yeah, sometimes they don't get past that. I saw a really cute cat "apartment"made out of pallets. Also, pallets painted like an American Flag for the 4th.

@snowy22315 I think I've seen those too! There's lots and lots of great ideas out there . . . I just don't know where I would get all those pallets - or even a grater to give up (our grater is over 20 years old!).

I like seeing plants in old boots and kettles. They're my type of plant pots.

I think that you can use big plastic bottles then make a tall shelf.
