This got trimmed yesterday

I had talked about how our white bougainvillae had spread far and wide facing the roadside an exotic view for the passers by.
It had grown so much that it was blocking the road and drivers were facing a problem. The Government sent someone yesterday and they trimmed the excess growth that was hindering the drivers
I felt sad to see them do it but understood the reason behind it

I saw they cut off a huge branch loaded with flowers but that was necessary

I understand how you feel—it’s always a bit sad to see something so beautiful get trimmed back, especially when it’s grown so freely and added charm to the surroundings. But I guess there’s also a reason behind it—probably to make sure the road stays safe and clear for passing cars. Sometimes, it’s just about finding that balance between beauty and safety. The good thing is, bougainvillea is resilient—it’ll grow back in no time, just as lovely as before.

@allknowing I think it's understandable to be sad since that was your plant and they form part of you. But as many are saying, it will start to grow back once again.

One of the most beautiful flowers that I see along roadsides are Bougainvillae. Sadly I could not grow this plant. It would really be sad to see flowers being cut down but if it is for the benefit of many, it would be okay.
