I'm Not Happy

I had to go to another insurance company this year because the one I had no longer carried my plan. I had heard good things about Humana so I went with them. Today I had the second bad experience with them. I called to see if the person coming out on May 2nd to do a medical visit would be okay with coming later in the 3p. to 6p. ball park I had been given. First off I could hardly understand this young man(and wasn't speaking with a thick accent--he just was not talking plainly). So, contending with that I try to explain my situation and he tells me the appointment had been canceled. Cancelled? When? (I had to have my daughter reschedule her appointment of the same day so she would be here to let this person in. I had to have Housing come later to do the flooring. All because I had this person coming.)I asked him how I was supposed to find out about this cancelation? He replied that they do make a reminder call. WHAT?! Why would they call me to remind me of something that isn't going to happen? I told him this was not good. That I was not happy. He didn't apologize. He didn't connect me to where I could make another appointment. No, all he said was "okay. Goodbye." REALLY!! I was dumbfounded. And, I wasn't going to let it lie. So I called customer service. She was nice and said that was terrible and said she could connect me to the department where I could set up another appointment. I let her do that and just ended up on hold. I hung up. Why am I trying to make another appointment? They called me to set this up, not me. I will wait and see how they handle it. It's not my issue, it's theirs.
These words come to mind: incompetent, unprofessional, etc. Just one more reason I don't like dealing with the outside world.
GGGGGGGRRRRRR!!!

That's good. I hope so, too. Not a very good beginning.

Very frustrating. I will be interesting in seeing how it goes from here.

Reading this, I can sense the anger and frustration. I would have felt the same way if I was in your shoes. So, many logistics have to be adjusted around an appointment. I hate it when it's cancelled without any prior intimation. I hate latecomers and those who cancel things late in time disrupting so many things. Highly unprofessional!!

It was very frustrating on many levels. I retired from a customer service career. I was trained by AT&T back in the 70s when CS was an important part of any business. I guess I just expect more than I should for this time. I will be interested in seeing how they proceed.

@celticeagle You have been in customer service and your frustration would be more to see how it has deteriorated over time.
