Uber May Pull Out of Colorado

Gee, I hope that doesn't happen because I depend on Ubers to get us round at times.
It would be the first time they had pulled out of a state.
I think this new law is insane in my opinion all over one woman's wish. Politics again.
The buses and light rail have become increasingly risky as fentanyl use has risen on the public transportation causing severe issues for both the drivers and innocent passengers just needing to get somewhere.
So even though Uber for us is pricey, it is necessary.
I have never had a bad experience in an Uber.
The basis of this new law if it passes requires Uber to video the whole ride inside the vehicle.
Uber is stating they can't comply with that, as there are too many legalities and chances of lawsuits.
Well, let's see what happens.
Has Uber been useful to you?

I've never used an Uber or any other type of taxi except for the medical taxis that take me back and forth to doctor appointments. Most of the time I drive my daughter and I anywhere we need to go. (Our car is currently in a garage being fixed right now or I wouldn't have used the medical taxis, either.)

@RebeccasFarm Expensive here, too. The mechanic called this afternoon and said it would cost a little over $1,500 to fix it. I told him I needed it so go ahead.

I hope they don't leave the state. I can't ride a bus and carry my wheelchair, so I'd be sunk. My daughter and grandson use the bus if it's close, but I would need Uber. I guess we do have Lyft if we had to. I wouldn't like the snacks and drinks thing anyway.
I've only had one bad experience. The guy was just weird, and nothing bad happened. He was playing loud music and wouldn't turn it down or off. We couldn't even hold a conversation. I reported him.
I hope they don't leave, or Lyft comes in. You didn't say if you had Lyft there.

@RebeccasFarm ......I only see the Lyft here when my grandson and daughter have a ride from them. The regular ride share is overbooked and they have one take them.

Good for you glad you reported him.
Yes you would need Uber for sure.
Lyft is here too but they are more expensive than Uber.
Yeah I don't take snacks from strangers lol

Filming in your car is legal if Calarodo is a single consent state (meaning while you have to warn riders you're filming you don't need their permission.) Assuming they're the ones passing this law, I can assume that it is legal for Uber to require this or do this. Uber already offers an optional record option in their safety toolkit, for both passangers and riders alike.
I have used uber in the past, as well as Lyft. And our results have been.... mixed. For the most part things had gone well, but near the end, things started to get dicy, especially when George would ride with me. Often times drivers just didn't want to deal with me, him the wheelchair and the walker.

Oh for sure I understand that they are very impatient drivers to say the least..they are all about driving and getting going, not helping anyone I get it Kayla.

I use to prefer uber when i need, it is because of drivers who are misbehaving with customers lots of complaints against them. There has to be some security for passengers riding with them. Uber should think of it. There business is when customers come in. But uber is really helpfull they should not pull out.

Oh, a cab driver would never do that, huh? Or a bus driver, or anyone else? Why don’t they just ban men in Colorado, that’ll solve the rape problem. (Sarcasm)

Funnily enough, I have never used Uber.
I wouldn't even know how. The small city I live closest to doesn't have it, and I drive my vehicle when I go other places.
When we've traveled, we've used public transport in cities. We haven't travelled for a few years though.

I am glad you can use it there. In America, the lawsuits abound so for Uber this is what it is thinking..it would be counter to their business model.
