I normally share good news stories of police officers and or firefighters saving lives. In this case this story is bittersweet since a Chicago firefighter named David Meyer who perished in the line of duty early Wednesday morning.
David who is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son has one of his daughters who is a student at the University of Iowa.
University of Iowa Campus Police were able to reach a deal to take David's daughter from Iowa City to the state line of Illinois where the Illinois police officers took David's daughter to be with her family at this time of sadness.
I applaud University of Campus Police Chief of Staff Hayley Bruce for assisting the daughter of a fallen firefighter come home in her time of need to be with her relatives.
