There is a world of free entertainment at my fingertips I added my library card to Libby the library app last night, so I was able to start listening to an audiobook of The Silent Patient last evening.. I had, had a library app on the Kindle before, but they switched to Libby so I had to input my info again. I also have Kanopy downloaded which has a ton of foreign and artsy type films that aren't carried as often on streaming sites. What inspired me was seeing a lot of interesting books in an article .knowing I wouldn't be able to get them for free on Amazon. Do you ever use a library app? It was nice to take a break from TV last night

I've got a membership to the Internet Archives and they have a wide variety of movies and ebooks. Some you can download and keep and others you can download and they disappear from your system after a certain length of time. (I've never looked to see if there are audio books there but I can't believe they don't have them.)

@snowy22315 It's an archive of everything that's ever been posted online. If you know the site something was posted to, you can still look that thing up even if it's been deleted. It's also called the WayBack Machine. Yes, membership is free.

No, I never have downloaded a library app, but I probably should.

Better than a trip to the library and having to hunt around. I am glad to have it back

@snowy22315 Absolutely. I have to go on a scavenger hunt to get to my library. It’s hidden in a maze of neighborhoods behind massive trees that no one trims. When I first moved here it took me forever to find it.

@AmbiePam I meant hunt around for the book once you get there.. The building itself is easy to find. It's right next to the middle and high schools .so good place for it It's big and roomie too for a small community like this.

Good morning. That is really quite interesting, I will have to check to see if our libraries have an app. It sounds like such a wonderful idea and would really be a great service.

It is. If you download Libby, you can probably find your library within the system, unless Canada uses something different. I think checking with the library to find what to use would be a good thing.

@snowy22315 I appreciate that, I will check it out tomorrow. I am trying my hardest to keep myself busy today, and I am that. I have a health concern praying on my mind, hence trying to stay busy. But now I need to get out and get the tomato plants and that gift card and a birthday card and....and....and....

No, I never used a library app, but yesterday we visited two "free library" (the small ones created inside old phone boots) and we brought home a total of 6 books. I love paper books.

It's good. I probably would have preferred reading than listening, but it is what it is. Did you once recommend John Sandefors? I might read one of his at some point

Oh for sure. I prefer video to reading, but I do read quite a bit..nonetheless. An audio book combines the best of both worlds and you can do other things when you listen as well.

I am reading a book now and have another lined up. They are physical books. I have used a app in the past.

I rarely read a physical book, but I like to keep one in the car for emergencies. Also, I may read it in the house, because it seems very good

You should check it out when you have a few spare minutes. They have more than books. Some even carry things like cake pans.
