We have a tornado warning here

Well that's unusual. I knew that we were expecting a thunderstorm but I just received the emergency alert on both my Apple Watch and iPhone that there is a thunderstorm warning. It said to go to the basement. Yeah sure. I live on the 3rd floor--I'll get right on that. 
According to the University of Google a tornado warning means that there either is one on the ground or one about to hit the ground. Awesome.
Well I was outside talking to Smoky McSmokerson and he told me that the warning was extended to 7pm which is 40 minutes from now. The rain has stopped and it is bright now so I'm not really worried about it.

I have never ever seen a real life Tornado before but from what I have seen on the telly it looks like quite a spectacle.
Will you take pictures of it if you see it?
When you get these warnings can they predict the severity of what is on its way?

Those types of warnings are very rare for this area. I do remember having a tornado come through the area like 15 years ago and, yes, as they say it sounds like a train. The rain has stopped and it is light again so I think we are good for tonight.

I'm glad it's not a common occurrence for you. I have seen on the telly the damage and destruction and deaths that Tornados can cause.

@Ineeddentures NJ doesn't get much severe weather other than nor'easters in the fall/winter. Hurricanes rarely make landfall here. Tornadoes and earthquakes? Not so much.

Usually tornado warnings are issued when they see rotation on radar. Anymore they don’t wait to see one.

Good luck! Tornados can be fun, as long as they don't touch down anywhere close to you!
