The aroma fills the home....

And it's making me hungry. My daughter and I are waiting for my husband to come down to have lunch. He will finish his bath and come down. We had a light breakfast of toast and tea. I am hungry now.The aroma of biryani is filling the home and it's heaven.
I have made chicken biryani for them and raw jackfruit biryani for my vegetarian self. The raw jackfruit biryani is the recipe of my grandmother and after her, it's me who makes it as good as her.
. I feel good to keep the legacy
It's 1:30 PM and a sunny bright day. The clouds keep coming in between, so it's not so hot like last few afternoons. After lunch, I will draw the drapes, make the house dark and take a nap.
Yesterday was a complete cooking free day and today I made an elaborate lunch of biryani, saalan and raita. I have made enough for two times and so it saves me from cooking dinner.
I plan to do few other things, mylotting and reading a bit once I get up after my nap.
What's everyone up to? Hope that you are enjoying your weekend.
Now, I move on to reading your posts for a while. That will keep me a bit distracted from the hunger pangs

Both types of biryani sound delicious and I hope you all enjoyed your meal.
It has been rather chilly here today and I've not been feeling my best. I laid down intending to read through my night like I usually do, myLotting once in a while during the night and fell asleep, instead.
It is 13C and raining. Even under a blanket, I'm still a little chilly. *shrug* I think I'm running a light fever. I'll go in the bathroom in a little bit and check my temp and take some fever reducer if I am.
I hope you're enjoying the rest of your day.

I am sorry that you are not keeping well. I hope that you have some medicine to give you some relief and you feel better soon. Take good rest.
Both the biryani were good and we ate more than what we would generally have. They even tried my jackfruit biryani. We have enough left but it seems like we won't have the appetite for such heavy dinner. Instead we might have omelette or something light. The leftover biryani can be used for tomorrow's dinner.

@arunima25 Thank you. I took some Pepto Bismol and do feel better.
If you had invited me over, you wouldn't have any biryani left at all.
I'm sure, whatever you make for supper will be delicious.

@DaddyEvil Happy to know that you feel better.
My biryani is pretty good and I keep getting compliments whenever I cook it for my guests. We might skip dinner and have some light soup or just an Omelette. That's the plan for now. Let's see how our appetite goes. Or we might eat a little bit more biryani at late hours. Right now, I am too full.

I am a vegetarian by choice. So, it was jackfruit biryani for me. My daughter said that my jackfruit biryani was just as delicious as the mutton biryani that I make. They relished both. We have enough left to relish later. I would have loved to have you for company.

That must be delicious! We had a rainy weekend here. But it's not continuous and we were able to go to the church in the morning and attended the homeowners assembly in the afternoon.

I make very good Biryani. I have got enough compliments from people who have tried it. Jackfruit biryani has become my signature dish. My cousins would always demand for it when they come over. It reminds them of our grandmother's cooking

What about lunch? Are you going to miss it?
When we start our Sunday late and relaxed, we just straightway go for heavy brunch and then dinner. What's your plan for sundate? Anything special for dinner?

We have taken it easy today, recovering from our car adventures. I made a large corn salad or corn dip yesterday. We will have it along side other food for a few days. We ate a large, late breakfast and then had sandwiches this evening, with corn salad. I have a pork roast in the slow cooker with tomatoes, peppers and beans.

I am not much of a Rice or Biryani Fan but do like if it is made nicely.
Plus Rajma Chawal and may be if there is the Dahi Bhalla stuff with Rice or Pulao.
I like Paranthas of various kinds more.
Anyways I hope that you enjoyed the food and had some good rest as well !!
Have a nice Sunday evening !!

I imagine that your home cooked Chicken Biryani is something really special.
We have an Indian family live near us and her cooking is sublime.
Her Biryani is so much better than the two take aways we could order from
I bet yours is awesome too.
