Lovely sunny and warm day today so I got a lot done in the yard.
But because it was a nice day, buddy down the street decided to mow his lawn.
MRRMRRRMRRRRRR.
And no sooner than he was done, another neighbor thought it was a good idea.
More MRRMRRRMRRRRRR...
A minute's quiet and the lady on the side street started to mow her lawn.
smrmmrmrmrmr (she has a smaller mower)
Ok, is it over?
No, someone on the next street over started up their mower.
By the time I was finished doing my work and ready to sit in the sun and drink a beer, the little boys two doors over finally came out to play... loudly.
Aiyaiyai!
So I finished my beer and came inside to whine to you guys.
Feel sorry for me yet?
The photo is the part I worked on today. Reset the bricks, filled the area between the fence and tree with lots of soil, thinned out a bunch of grape hyacinths and transplanted some of them to another bed.

In my last house it drove me crazy to hear the weedeaters run along the wooden fence not ten feet from the side of my house.

You should have started your mower up and just let it sit in one place... Kind of like you were saying "See? I can make useless noise, too." 
I swear that's what some neighbors do when they get mad about something here.

That's an idea but unfortunately my mower won't run by itself... I have to push in this button then pull back that handle and when I let go of it, it shuts off. So I'd basically be a prisoner of my mower.
