I think that my grandson is becoming quite the cook. He has done a few things over the last few years. He helps his mom a lot in the kitchen. But, recently, he has taken on the role of cook, no longer helper.
Right now we are trying to get all the freezer and frig cleared out. Old food and things we forgot we had. So tonight he took it upon himself to put together a soup(he likes soup). He just came up to explain what ingredients he is putting in it and what the plan is for dinner. I gave a little advice, and it smells really good.
My daughter usually does the cooking. She does okay, but I think she feels it is more of a chore than something she enjoys. So if my grandson wants to take up the baton, go for it!

Soup is an excellent way to use up those bits.
Cooking is a great way to be creative.

I agree, it's always better if the cook wants to be in the kitchen for a while than if the person feels forced to do the cooking. Usually, the food turns out much better.

Your grandson likes cooking a lot which is good since it is going to assist you inside your home.

That’s wonderful! My husband is a good cook to and enjoyed learning to cook with his mother more then his sisters did.

I am a firm believer that pretty much everyone needs to know how to cook some meals. Especially now, with food so expensive. If he likes and wants to cook, good for him! Encourage him all you can. I hope his soup tasted as good as it smelled!
