Thanks to the teamwork of the St. Paul and Minneapolis firefighters and rescue technicians who answered an emergency call on Wednesday April 23 when a man fell down a 14 foot hole that was filled in sand managed to rescue the victim by using a street department vacuum to remove the sand.
Some of the rescue team members stabilized the wall inside the sand to make sure that the building would not collapse.
The work of rescuing the man who was trapped in sand up to his waist took about six hours.
An ambulance took the injured man to a local hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

What a great song. I can't believe I hadn't heard it before. At least not that I remember.

That was a scary, and precarious, rescue and it was good the man was rescued safely before the sand collapsed in on him and buried him.
