Oliver, the New Cat, Hasn't Eaten Anything Since We Brought Him Home

The Rescue Animal Shelter told us that he might not eat for 3 days due to being rehomed and acclimating to a new environment. He's as comfortable and happy as can be. He sleeps with us. He lets us pet him and pick him up and brush him. He is drinking water and peeing in the litterbox. But he hasn't eaten yet. Today's the third full day. A cat can go a while without eating, so we're not terribly worried, and we realize he'll eat when he gets hungry, but it just doesn't make sense as to why he wouldn't want to eat given that he's so otherwise well-adjusted here with us. Photo of Oliver when we adopted him.

I wouldn't worry, he will be fine. Does he get any treats he really likes. Try him with a treat , he might decide he wants to eat that

I would consult with a vet personally .Not eating can have repercussions. Are you leaving his food out at night when everybody is in bed? When I had cats that were"adjusting" they would come out and eat when the house was quiet.

Poor Oliver. Hopefully he'll eat soon. I'm sure he's happy being with y'all.

At least he is well-conditioned at the moment. Hopefully, he'll feel like eating soon.

Cats hide anxiety. It could be the food. When we adoppted out little bit, I forgot to tell the woman who took him that he refused to eat wet food. When I mentioned that he started eating again.
