Has anyone watched Battle Royale? It is not a recent film, released in 2000. It's about the Japanese government killing off ninth grade teenagers.

Yes, I've seen Battle Royale. It's a pretty entertaining movie, especially since some of the teens get absolutely nothing as weapons. I mean, a flashlight and a frying pan? It's crazy!
I think it's one of the best psuedo humorous dark movie I've ever watched.
What is your opinion on the movie?

It's the best horror (as some would classify it) movie I have ever seen.
I showed it to my parents and they were concerned about my tastes.
The thing is that the movie has a very non-violent theme, but many people miss it.
Also, there's an American version coming out in 2008 o_o.
It'd be ironic, probably won't have many Asian people unless they decide to keep the position of the Japanese government. Thoughts?

I think that it would be too controversial for an American movie studio to release a movie like that about the Japanese government. If we were actively at war with them and it was some sort of commentary on their policies, it would be different, but as we aren't, it wouldn't go over well.
