Some people are now blatantly copying responses.

The level of cheating at Mylot is actually getting worse. I have noticed people posting the same discussions before, and there have been incidents of discussions being literally copied and pasted word for word. Now it has gone further still. I have encountered several examples where someone has copied another response word for word and pasted it into the same discussion. Check this link to see 2 examples of this, and compare response 4 with 23 then response 25 with 44: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/355813.aspx

I have noticed this too! This one member: icutop is a BIG culprit. This person's topics usually don't make sense. He's copied topics about being worried about his weight, about his husband! LOL Even topics about nothing! I don't know where this person is getting half of these... I hope mylot catches this person...

I've had it happen in my discussions, too. It's annoying, isn't it? What people will do to make a few pennies. I don't consider what we're paid here on mylot to be anywhere near the worth of my integrity. Others must not think very highly of themselves. Hopefully the good people on mylot will continue to report these things and mylot will continue to improve its ability to police for the game players. I just keep trying to appreciate good friends like you and ignore the riffraff! :O)

The discussion of your's was the first example that I had seen of copying a discussion and pasting it. This idea of doing the same with responses seems to be the next step, which we can surely do without.

Owlwings, have you noticed that someone -- jedtanet -- is copying posts verbatim from mylot and posting them on javahive?

Well, the rules were changed recently. Looks like myLot is trying to avoid those people.

I'm in, guys. This is a great forum to expose the cheaters and get the attention of other hard-working myLotters to report them right out of myLot! There are about 6 copy cats in my one discussion... check them out and please report their cheating a$$es! http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/356144.aspx

I dont think it has happened to any of my discussions, maybe it has and I havent noticed it. how about when we notice it on at least our own Discussions we give the person a - rating instead of a + Rating. I dont know if we want to use the abuse one or not I dont know what will happen. Since it has happened and in your discussion have you raised the question to admin using the link on the bottom of the page. maybe the abuse link is what we need to do and maybe this is what the admin might want us to do, if we give them a negaive on the response it might take some money from them. Yes, the abuse link is what needs to be used. This is what it is for. Please use this and report it everytime you see it. This is the only way we are going to get these people stopped.

I was very tolerant at first, but my attitude is rapidly changing because these people are ruining a site that I enjoy. I usually check their profile now, and if it is a constant trick then I report it as abuse.

I commented beneath a few that I came across, but then I realised that if these people are copying and pasting other comments in order to make quick cash then they are not likely to return to read any replies.

I didn't even know you got paid for this until I read further into it. Either way, I like the satisfaction of knowing that I am my own person, lol. I have seen a lot of copy/pasters in the short time I've been a member, it's insane how lazy some people can be.

You should see my discussion called "How Rude?" http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/356144.aspx ... many people have copied and pasted right from my discussion responses, into the SAME discussion! Some have even made the copied response on the same page from which they copied it! That is so rude, lazy and ballsy as heck! I have made comments on the 6 or so I found and of course, they were reported! I'm hoping more people will point out and notice these copy cats and keep reporting them right out of myLot! This would be a good forum to point those cheaters out... thanks!

sergiuarsenie, from post #44 is a REPEAT repeat offender! He has copied and pasted his response from response #25 and worse, neither are even on topic! I just reported this same user last night for doing the same thing in my discussion! I hate to act like the myLot police but this is cheating... cheating all of us myLotters who are working hard and thinking freely, giving our real opinions, advice, or experiences!!!

I am glad that there are a lot of people at Mylot who share my desire to stop this behaviour. Hopefully between us we can make a difference. I have not seen your discussion yet, but I shall be reading it as soon as I have posted this reply.

I think they got rid of those because I just went to reference the comments and they weren't there. Good to know that mylot is keeping their promise...but I kind of wanted to see it too! I have yet to see the copying in action, I just hear that it goes on...or was going on.

I started the discussion about a month ago, and Mylot have made great improvements since that time. Cheating still takes place here, but it is much less prolific and the offenders are being gradually removed from the site. The fact that you have not seen any copy and pasting proves what an excellent job the admin are doing on the site.

I noticed that this was a common occurance about a week ago but I'm not seeing as much cheating ever since mylot announced that users who do this will be terminated. I was getting so sick of seeing the same discussions over and over, plus it kinda made me mad that people try to cheat like that!

It certainly was annoying to keep seeing the same responses and comments. I also agree that the situation is improving quite a lot now.

what you can do to stop that? report them!. if you believe they cheating just report them to mylot. Mylot will deleted response or discussion if they think someone cheating by copy paste. mylot can't control all discussion in here, that's why mylot need your EYES to keep this site better. for cheater please write what you can, even if you just write short response it's better than cheating.

You have a good point there, it is better to change these member's attitudes than simply get rid of them. Sadly, I think that very few would be likely to change now.

i cant believe the amount of people who cant even come up with an original discussion or reply. Has anyone else seen icutop, I gave advice on one of his discussions i thought it was for real and then next minute his asking for advice to do with getting married when his first one said he was already married, i dont know where he is getting his topics from but it obvious that he isnt creating them!

Quite a few people have already commented about this particular person, so he must be rather notorious by now. How can these people seriously beleive that no one will notice?

I've noticed this in my own threads. Two types of this: 1.) Copy and paste from some website somewhere. 2.) Copy and paste from another thread/member here There are also so many one or two word replies which are not helping the conversation along. I think people are just typing for cash... devalues the whole system.
@Asylum (47893)

This is the whole problem, everything gets devalued and Mylot does not operate as a forum anymore but simply a notice board with lots of the same comment.

unfortunatly this happens a lot it seems, i have answer three topics on this exact thing today, each of my responses have been different, i refuse to copy and pasy.
@Asylum (47893)

6 Dec 06
That is exactly the point, even if you answer the same question 3 times then by typing it as you respond you will end up with different entries despite them having the same basic information. The problem is that some people have even copied other people's responses word for word.

This has happened to me today also. A person copied what I responded with and pasted it as their own. Everyone that sees this happen needs to report it. That is something that myLot asks that we as users do. They can not monitor it all. So please, be part of the solution...report.

If someone takes the time to repond to a discussion of mine then I always read their response and comment if required to. This makes it easy to spot a perfect copy such as the ones referred to.

I have not seen that until now! I have seen a lot of complaints, but never seen it. They are just rude, cheaters that don't know how to have their own opinion. Someone took the time to write the response to the discussion and I would definatley try to get everyone to report them!!!! Meany Head People!!
