I Dont Want to Smack My Son!

My son is 3 and my husband says i spoil him by not smacking him- i give time outs and give him time to think instead of just smacking him- i dont want to hit him!
How do i get my husband to agree with me !! help please

Can you find some books on discipline that don't support spanking and share them with him? Would he respect that? It shouldn't be hard to find some.

thank you for your comment ...i told my hubby as soon as our children have the need to steal or rob someone ..then he can smack them. :) i will make sure they never do that:)

lol...yeah your from america right ?
yeah 80 % of single moms are on welfare and 90% of ppl in jail come from broken homes ...so yeah ....i think my husband taking an active roll in his sons life and wanting a strong punishment to teach him right from wrong is wonderful ...ps ill spank him just for fun :)

I think you should sit your husband down and tell him your reasons for not wanting to hit him and then the two of you should come up with a list of alternative punishments and decide which ones would work the best.
If your husband still thinks that smacking is the best answer, ask him why he thinks that and why he doesn't believe other punishments would work well in place of it.
